February 2011 the City of Forest Grove and the Forest Grove Rural Fire District went in together to purchase
two used type III engine used for fighting fires in the wildland/urban interface.  These two engines are twins and
were purchased from a department Southeast of Sacramento.  Last month both engines were placed in service.
Both Heavy Brush 4 (responding out of our main downtown station) and Heavy Brush 7 (responding out of our
Gales Creek station) are just one more tool we now have in providing the best fire protection service to our
customers.  Both engines are 1993 international 4800 crew cab 4x4's.  They have a 500 GPM pump as well as a
500 gallon water tank.  They can carry a crew of 4 and are also set up to attack structure fires (but that is not
the main intent).  Below are some recent pictures of both heavy brushes.
