| Stair climb Fund raiser 2009 |
| Climbing for a Cure |
On Saturday February 28, 2009 Crews from Forest Grove Fire & Rescue and Cornelius Fire Department held a
fund raiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The event which was held at the Ballad Towne Square
Shopping Center was a friendly competition between both fire departments to see who could climb the most
stairs. In the end, firefighters climbed a total of over 1,100 floors during the competition. Crews continued to
climb even after the competition was over. We would like to thank the Ballad Towne Square shopping center for
allowing us to hold the event in the parking lot and Nautilus for the use of the stair mills. We would also like to
thank those who stopped by to see what was going on as well as those who have donated money both in person
and online at the link below. During the event teams raised $746.00 to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society for blood cancer research.
This Sunday March 8th is the actual event in Seattle at the Columbia Tower.
