Chimney Brush Rental Program
Did you know that you can you can stop by the fire station and check out chimney brushes to clean your
chimney?

For those who use wood to heat their homes in the winter months, the chimney is one thing that most forget to
maintain until it is too late.  When a chimney is left unmaintained it can have a lot of build up on the inner liner.
This build up is fuel in your chimney waiting to ignite.  Once ignited, this unburned fuel can cause damage to
your chimney, an ultimately spread the fire to your home causing even more damage.

We have different sizes of chimney brushes and poles that you the home owner can check out and clean out your
chimney.  Brushes can be checked out for up to a 24hr time period.  Due to the various size brushes that we
have, we ask that know which size you will need to clean your chimney prior to checking them out.  Please be
aware that this program is becoming more popular with people wanting to clean their chimney's, so if you are
thinking about cleaning yours, don't wait before it is too late.

So far the people who have checked out our chimney poles have said that this program has saved them $150 to
$200 to have it professionally done.  This program was not intended to replace having a professional clean your
chimney.  The programs intent was to help out homeowner with supplying them with the tools to get the job
done themselves and hopefully saving them a visit from us in the event of a chimney fire.

For more information, please contact us at 503.992.3240
Currently our Friends and Family CPR, Chimney Brush Rental Program, and our Car Seat Clinics are free of
charge.  It is our intent to offer these programs free of charge to the community.  As with all programs there is
always maintenance and upkeep involved.  If you have participated in any of our programs and are compelled to
make a donation to our volunteer firefighter association to help maintain these programs, your donation would
be greatly appreciated and can be dropped off at the fire station during regular business hours Monday - Friday
8am to 5 pm.
